Corona Extra is a pale lager that was brought into the United States in 1981 and became the fastest growing imported beer in U.S. history. Corona Extra is widely consumed year-round, however, it is also viewed as a summertime beverage because of its fruity-honey aroma and its crisp, light  flavor. Corona also produces Corona Light, which is half the calories. Corona is sometimes used as an ingredient in a beer cocktail, called “Coronarita”, that consists of a bottle of Corona upturned to drain into a margarita.
