Beer: The Fall Lineup
We know it’s only August, but on the other hand – It’s already August?! It’s time to start thinking about fall and all of the delicious fall seasonal beers we get the privilege of enjoying in our great State of Vermont. We wanted to highlight a few of our favorite seasonals to get you as pumped up for fall as we are!
Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin!
“Dear great pumpkin…” This flavor has been taking the US by storm, even more so in the past few years. We love the trend and are excited about all of the different seasonal pumpkin brews that are coming in fall 2014.
Magic Hat’s new Wilheim Scream boasts a flavor profile including Pumpkin, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Allspice. We can’t wait to try the newest addition to the Magic Hat Family (5.4% ABV).
Wolaver’s Fine Organic Ale’s has a unique Pumpkin Brew. If you’re looking for a truly local beer, look no further – Their Pumpkin Beer is made with organic pumpkins that are grown by local Vermont farmers less than 15 miles away from their brewery. This golden amber ale is mildly spicy and has a delicious taste (5.35% ABV).
Sam Adam’s brings all the flavor and drinkability of their name to their Harvest Pumpkin Ale. This inviting beer is smooth and delights with flavors of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg, rounding out the pumpkin flavor nicely. (5.7% ABV)
Blue Moon’s Harvest Pumpkin Ale is malty, spicy, and wonderfully rich. They recommend pairing it with beef dishes and fall seasonal soups. (5.7% ABV)
The Traveler Beer Company, based out of Burlington, Vermont, has a seasonal Wheat Ale brewed with real pumpkin. They describe their “Jack O’Traveler” beer as a delicious, dark hued, Shandy-inspired beer. (4.4% ABV)
Other Delicious Seasonals
Switchback’s Slow-Fermented Brown Ale has a gorgeous, deep chestnut color to it. The flavor is crisp, similar to a lager, also boasting a smooth fee. The tasty brown ale has a rich roasted caramel flavor, subtle sweetness and hoppy undertone. (5.2% ABV)
Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest is a traditional Marzen-style beer with a toasted malt flavor and slight, spicy hop note. A true German beer! (5.1% ABV)
Sam Adam’s Octoberfest is a fan favorite and is their version of the classic, German-style Oktoberfest beer. A great combination of hearty malts makes for a deep, smooth flavor with hints of caramel. An amazing fall brew! (5.3% ABV)
